PrincipalPrincipal: Robert Hartley

Our Principal, Robert Hartley, graduated from Auburndale High School in 1972. He attended Polk Community College through 1972 and graduated from Florida State University in 1977 with a degree in Physical Education and Drivers Education. In 1979, he received certification in Math and went on to teach for the next 17 years. In 1996, he obtained a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. Mr. Hartley taught at Southwest Junior High, Auburndale Junior High, Lakeland High, Winter Haven High, and Auburndale High School. Next he served as Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Denison Middle School from 1999 to 2001 and was instrumental in Denison's receiving it's first "A" grade from the State of Florida. After serving as Polk County School Board Director of Employee Relations from 2001 - 2004, he was appointed Principal at Lakeland Highlands Middle School. Mr. Hartley has served on many different  committees throughout the years, such as District Curriculum Committee, Book Section Committee, and Calendar Committee. Academics have always been a love of his, and he was fortunate enough to participate in many sports throughout his high school career. As a coach he coached high school football and middle and high school wrestling, leading two wrestling teams to state championships. Mr. Hartley was inducted into the National Wresting Hall of Fame in 2011.  Mr. Hartley has a loving wife who serves in the educational field as an English teacher. Two of his 4 children are also involved in education.

Assistant PrincipalAssistant Principal of Curriculum: Todd Bennett

Mr. Bennett began his career in education as a High school Biology teacher at Auburndale High School and Lake region High School from 1998-2005.  In November 2005 Mr. Bennett transferred to Sleepy Hill Middle as Dean of Students.  He was Dean of Students at Sleepy Hill Middle School for 4 years.  In January 2008, Mr. Bennett was appointed Assistant Principal of Administration at Stambaugh Middle School.   He recently changed job roles and moved to the Assistant Principal of Curriculum in 2011. Mr. Bennett received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology  from Warner Southern University  and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.  He is currently certified in Biology 6-12 and Educational Leadership.

Our Assistant Principal of Administration, Angela Vincent, is new to Stambaugh for the 2011- 2012 school year.
