Pinnacle Internet Viewer
What is it?
PIV – PIV is a browser application that allows parents to view real-time
information regarding their child’s classes, grades or attendance whenever
convenient. Parents can also setup emails to keep up with the daily progress of their student. All you
need is a student ID number and a confidential password.
How do you take advantage of this service?
Obtain an application from either the Attendance Office, the
Guidance Office or print it off the SMS website. The
parent/guardian can return it to the school in person with a picture ID, or have
the form notarized and returned by mail/in person to the school. For access to
the PIV, a password will be given to the parent
by stopping by the Guidance Department in person to obtain a password, or by
leaving a phone number where they can be contacted in person. Parents will able
to access their child’s reports shortly after the forms are received by the
school. All forms will be verified against the school records and
the student’s 2007-2008 Emergency Notification Card, which must be on file. We
will continue to send printed progress reports home with students every
mid-term. This is just an
additional way for parents to monitor their child’s school experience.
When accessing the PIV through the link at www.stambaughmiddle.com
, you will need your child’s 10-digit student ID number and the password
provided to you from the school.
Why so much security?
We do not mean to create any inconvenience for parents. Whereas we
firmly believe that parents and students have an absolute right to the
student’s school information, we want to insure by every means possible that
the information remains secure and private. The students may access their grades
using the same password as the parents but only the parents may request changes
to the service or a new password.
